A twist on pairs cricket where its pair vs pair as well as team vs team:

Team to consist of SIX players; one innings per team.
Each innings shall consist of 6 x EIGHT ball overs

Pitch length – 20yrds stump to stumps, but batters run from 17yrds (3yrds at bowlers end)

Players will bat in pairs (known as a SMASH) with an equal number of overs across the 3 pairs (2 overs per pair)

Teams start on 200 and lose 5 runs per wicket
Bowlers are only able to bowl a MAXIMUM of 2 overs each (3 bowlers min).

Bowling will take place from one end – At the end of each over the batters will swap ends to alternate the strike.

Wides and no-balls shall be decided by the umpires according to the normal laws of cricket. (No ball to be called if a ball without bouncing goes above waist height).

Any no-ball/wide bowled on the last delivery of each pair will be re-bowled.

Fielders do not need to rotate – however there must be a fielder on the off-side at all times as well as two fielders in the half of the hall closest to the striking batter when the ball is bowled (Wicket keeper will be included in this count.)

All normal dismissals of cricket shall be allowed with the exception of LBW – LBW is only to be given if the batsman deliberately kicks the ball in front of the stumps without offering any shot at the ball.

At the fall of a wicket the batsmen shall switch ends – no need to switch in the event of a run out.

The scoring for SMASH Indoors shall take place as follows:

The wall behind the bowler shall count as the boundary wall – any ball that bounces before contact will count as 4;
any ball that hits the wall on the full will count as 6.
All other walls INCLUDING the ceiling will count as 1 run, overthrows will also count as 1 run including when thrown and hit the boundary wall.

A player can be caught off all side walls, ceiling and behind the keeper – the run will still count.

2 runs shall be awarded for every completed run. – EXCEPT for if the batter hasn’t hit the ball and the ball goes behind the keeper and the batters run a BYE, this will only count as 1 run.

This does not apply for any runs that are taken off a wide (these will still count as 2)

Wides and No-balls shall count as 2 runs (extras) – If any completed runs are made off a no-ball or wide these will be added onto the extras.

Awarding points and results:
4 points will be awarded to the team scoring the most runs (deemed the winner – They SMASHED it!)

3 points will be awarded for a tie (runs tied) – wickets have already been taken into account.

1 point will be awarded for the losing side for taking part
1 bonus point for scoring over 260

Each pair will be competing directly against the equivalent pair for an additional point in each match (SMASH) – E.G. Team A Pair 1 (16) vs Team B Pair 1 (13) = Team A Pair 1 win the SMASH

3 additional points will be available (1 point per SMASH)

A SMASH is won by scoring more runs than the opposing pair in the match. In the event of a tie, the SMASH will be split 0.5 per pair.

There is a total number of 8 points up for grabs (including the bonus).

9 Game points per fixture.
Or 10 if both teams score the bonus point.
